I was born in Tunis in 1971 and studied directing at the
Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français and La Fémis in Paris,
then completed the Cultural Manager Program at the Goethe-Institut
in Berlin. My first years on a film set were spent as assistant
director on international productions shooting in Tunisia —
including Star Wars.
Between 2006 and 2017 I directed several feature films and
documentaries including: She & He, Rouge Parole, Lost in
Tunisia, and Tunis by Night.
Rouge Parole, on the Tunisian revolution, was supported
by the Doha Film Institute and remains the work I am most often
asked about.
Today I live in Atlanta, and part of my work has shifted
from filming people to teaching them. The Integral Acting Method
came from that shift — from realising that what I had been
observing for thirty years could be taught.
Not as inspiration. As method.
